Having represented England in four Tests between 1947 and 1950, he showcased his immense talent on the international stage. Not only was Dollery an exceptional cricketer but also one of the pioneering professional captains during that era. Under his leadership, Warwickshire clinched the coveted County Championships title in 1951 – a testament to his strategic prowess and ability to inspire his teammates. Interestingly enough, Dollery's sporting talents extended beyond cricket; he was once a promising junior football player for West Bromwich Albion. This extraordinary photograph holds even more significance as it captures a familial connection within the world of cricket: Dollery's grand-daughter Abi would later marry none other than Jonathan Trott – another distinguished cricketer who represented both Warwickshire and England with great distinction.
