This stunning close-up image showcases the intricately detailed scarab of Seti I, a Pharaoh of the 14th Dynasty in ancient Egypt, who ruled from 1314 to 1304 BC. The scarab, a type of beetle revered in ancient Egyptian culture, is carved from steatite with a modern green color. The obverse side of the scarab depicts the image of Seti I as Menmaatre Seti Merenre Ma'at-ra, with the cartouche of his name inscribed in hieroglyphics. The reverse side displays the image of the god Mizraim, the god of the Nile, with the hieroglyphic inscription "Menmaatra" or "Menmaatre," meaning "Beloved of Ma'at," a goddess of truth and justice.
