This 16th-century print, titled "Saint Roch Recommending Woman Sick Child Virgin" is a remarkable piece of art that showcases the talent and skill of an anonymous Italian artist from central Italy. The print, preserved on cream-colored paper with pen and brown ink, depicts a scene filled with emotion and spirituality. On the recto side, we see Saint Roch standing tall as he recommends a sick child to the Virgin Mary. The figures are beautifully detailed, capturing their expressions of hope and faith. A man holding a book stands beside them, adding depth to the composition. Flipping over to the verso side reveals intriguing elements in this artwork. Traces of framing outlines can be observed along with an arch-like form at the top. It appears that these were preliminary sketches or ideas by the artist before finalizing his masterpiece on the recto side.
