The historic clash between the Austrian and Prussian armies marked a turning point in the Austro-Prussian War and the beginning of the decline of the Austrian Empire. The Battle of Königgratz was a decisive victory for the Prussians, led by General Helmuth von Moltke, who outmaneuvered the Austrian forces under the command of Archduke Albrecht.
