This stunning chromolithograph depicts the Tahitian Screwpine, Pandanus tectorius, also known as Veitch's Screw-pine or simply the Tahitian Pandanus. The image is an illustration by Desire Bois, taken from Edward Step's "Favourite Flowers of Garden and Greenhouse," published by Frederick Warne in London in 1896. The Tahitian Screwpine is a tropical plant native to the Pacific Islands, and its distinctive appearance has made it a popular ornamental plant in gardens around the world.
