November 11, 1920: The Unknown Warrior's Final Farewell - A Solemn Procession at the Cenotaph The eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1920 marked the end of a significant chapter in the history of the United Kingdom. The Unknown Warrior, an unidentified British soldier killed in the line of duty during the First World War, was laid to rest at Westminster Abbey in a poignant and symbolic ceremony.
