This stunning 17th century print depicts Cardinal Infante Ferdinand of Austria (1609-1641), the Archbishop of Toledo and younger brother of King Philip IV of Spain. The image is based on a painting by the renowned Flemish artist Anton van Dyck (1599-1641), showcasing the Cardinal's regal presence and ecclesiastical authority. Born in the Austrian Netherlands, Ferdinand was an important figure in European politics and the Catholic Church during the Thirty Years' War.
