United States Air Force - North American AT-28D 51-3681 (msn 174-219), in storage at the Sacramento Air Materiel Area (SMaR), McClellan AFB, CA. Built as a T-28A-NA number: 3681 was assigned to the 3300th Pilot Training Group, Graham AFB, FL. After several assignments and periods of storage at MASDC number: 3681 was allotted to Fairchild-Hiller, Crestview, FL on 26 July 1973 for conversion to AT-28D-5, (line number 39) and re-delivered to Sacramento Air Materiel Area (SMaR), McClellan AFB, CA. as a Ground Instructional Airframe. Delivered to the Honduran Air Force - Fuerza Aerea Hondurena on 28 February 1978 as 226 as part of the Military Assistance Program [MAP]. After being struck off charge she was civilian registered and eventually returned to the US as N285DL. Date: 1974

This photograph captures the United States Air Force (USAF) North American AT-28D 51-3681, also known as msn 174-219, in storage at the Sacramento Air Materiel Area (SMaR) at McClellan Air Force Base in California. The T-28A-NA trainer with the serial number 3681 was initially assigned to the 3300th Pilot Training Group at Graham Air Force Base in Florida. After several assignments and periods of storage at the Military Aircraft Storage and Disposition Center (MASDC), this aircraft was allotted to Fairchild-Hiller in Crestview, Florida, on July 26, 1973, for conversion to the AT-28D-5 model (line number 39). Upon completion of the conversion, 51-3681 was returned to SMaR as a Ground Instructional Airframe. Subsequently, on February 28, 1978, the Honduran Air Force, or Fuerza Aerea Hondurena, received this aircraft as part of the Military Assistance Program (MAP) and assigned it the number 226. After being struck off charge, the AT-28D was civilian registered and eventually returned to the United States, where it was registered as N285DL. This photograph, taken in 1974, showcases the history and versatility of the North American AT-28D trainer, which served in various roles for both military and civilian applications.
