Avro Tudor 1 G-AGRF, affectionately known as "Elizabeth of England," was a historic Avro Type T702 Tudor Mark I aircraft that served with the British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) from 1947 to 1951. This photograph captures the elegant and graceful design of the Avro Tudor 1, which was a significant advancement in aviation technology during the post-World War II era. The Avro Tudor 1 was a twin-engine transport aircraft, which was designed to provide long-range passenger and cargo services. Its sleek lines and innovative features, such as a pressurized cabin and retractable landing gear, made it a popular choice for airlines around the world. G-AGRF, named after Queen Elizabeth II, was the first Avro Tudor 1 to be delivered to BOAC. It made its maiden flight on December 19, 1946, and was put into service in March 1947.
