The SS Berengaria, a majestic vessel built in 1912 for the Hamburg-American Line, previously known as Imperator, was a 52,226-ton liner measuring 883 feet in length with a speed of 23 knots. This impressive ship, with its rich history, had been acquired by Cunard Line in 1933.
