This print titled "The Coronation" takes us back to the golden age of rail travel in 1938. Created by renowned artist Frank Henry Mason, this London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) poster aimed to entice travelers to explore the enchanting landscapes of Scotland. In this picturesque scene, we witness the majestic Coronation locomotive hurtling along the East Coast towards Scotland. The train's sheer speed is palpable as it races past the stunning coastline north of Berwick. As if frozen in time, we can admire the Longstone Lighthouse standing tall amidst crashing waves and rugged cliffs. But that's not all; our eyes are drawn further into the distance where a panorama of historic landmarks awaits. The Farne Islands Priory emerges from its tranquil surroundings, while Dunstanborough Castle proudly overlooks its coastal domain. Bamburgh Castle stands resolute against an azure sky, and Holy Island Castle adds an air of mystery to this breathtaking vista.
