John Richards, born on March 19,1953, in Wolverhampton, England, began his professional career with the Wolves in 1971. This image, taken during the 1970s, showcases Richards in his prime, with his intense gaze fixed on the ball and his powerful, muscular build exuding strength and athleticism. Richards was a central defender known for his leadership, tenacity, and ability to read the game. He made his debut for Wolves in a League Cup tie against Leicester City on September 22,1971, and went on to make over 400 appearances for the club between 1971 and 1984. During his time at Molineux, Richards helped lead the team to the League Cup final in 1974 and the FA Cup final in 1980. After retiring from professional football in 1984, Richards went on to manage several teams, including Wolves, where he returned as manager in 1994.
