16th October 2022 at Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire, England, played host to the HSCC (Historic Sports Car Club) Classic Formula Ford Championship. This thrilling event showcased 1600cc Formula Ford racing cars that were built and raced before 1982. The grid was split into two classes: Class A for cars that raced from the start of 1974 to the end of 1981, and Class B for those that competed up to the end of 1973. In this image, we find Tim Bennett behind the wheel of his Hawke DL21, competing in Class A. The Hawke DL21, a popular choice among racers during its time, is a single-seater open-wheeler that exudes nostalgia and speed. The vintage car, adorned with its distinctive blue and white livery, roars onto the track as the countdown to the race begins. The HSCC Classic Formula Ford Championship is a testament to the rich heritage of motor racing and motorsport. The twenty-minute race presented an opportunity for competitors to showcase their skills and the capabilities of these classic racing cars.
