The Gloucester Musical Festival, 1844....the hundred and fifty-first annual meeting of the three choirs of Hereford, Gloucester, and Worcester, for the benefit of the Widows and Orphans Fund of the clergy connected with the three dioceses was commenced in the antique Cathedral of Gloucester...The performance opened with full cathedral service. The whole of the spacious nave of the western part of this noble edifice was fitted up with great care and neatness.
