The origin of this masterpiece is believed to be from the historic city of Bursa, located in northwestern Turkey. The carpet, made of silk, wool, and cotton, is a prime example of the Persian sehna knot technique, which creates a soft, plush pile. The design features a vibrant and intricate geometric pattern, with a harmonious blend of colors and hues. The use of silk, wool, and cotton in the plain weave background and supplementary wrapping wefts adds to the carpet's luxurious texture and visual appeal. This carpet is a testament to the artistic prowess of the weavers of the Ottoman Empire during the 16th and 17th centuries. The intricate patterns and use of multiple materials demonstrate the high level of skill and craftsmanship required to create such a beautiful and intricate piece of art.
