EDITORS COMMENTS
This print transports us back to the 1880s, offering a glimpse into the grandeur of Springfield Brewery in Wolverhampton. Standing proudly on Cambridge Street, this iconic industrial landmark was built in 1873 by William Butler, with architect R Sinclair overseeing its construction. The south front of the brewery is beautifully captured in this image from the Bedford Lemere daybook. The photograph showcases the impressive exterior of Springfield Brewery, highlighting its architectural elegance and scale. Majestic chimneys rise towards the sky while intricate detailing adorns every corner. It's clear that no expense was spared in creating this brewing masterpiece.
