Surrounding him are Lady Evelyn (Lady The Honourable Evelyn Herbert, later Lady Allenby) and Mrs. Arthur Merton, along with Lord Carnarvon and Lord Canarvon's daughter, Lady Evelyn Carnarvon. The group is poised to enter the chamber, which had remained hidden for over 3,000 years. Carter's groundbreaking discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922 had already made international headlines, but the Chamber of Wonders, also known as the Antechamber of Anubis, was an even greater find. It contained a wealth of treasures, including the famous golden shrine of Osiris, which was believed to have once held the mummy of the god himself.
