This vintage lantern slide depicts an awe-inspiring view of the construction progress of the iconic Forth Bridge in Scotland during the late Victorian or early Edwardian era. The Forth Bridge, an engineering marvel of its time, was the longest single cantilever bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1890. Measuring an impressive 2,527 meters (8,291 feet) in length and 106 meters (348 feet) in height, the bridge spanned the Firth of Forth, connecting the towns of North and South Queensferry.
