Theres always one at every Christmas party - he won

Theres always one at every Christmas party - he won t have to join in the fun or even put on a paper hat. but when teas ready he ll have his paws on the table faster than you can say cream buns. Children at Dunblane Primary School near Stirling could not expect much else from their special guest for he was Hercules the Bear. The runaway star with the big appetite isn t quite as well known for his table manners and he muched noisily through a bowful of prawns and slurped away at gallons of ale while the awe stuck youngsters looked on, strangely unconcerned with their own grub. But they didn t mind - they were only there for the bear! 4th December 1980

Theres always one at every Christmas party - he won't have to join in the fun or even put on a paper hat. but when tea's ready he'll have his paws on the table faster than you can say cream buns. Children at Dunblane Primary School near Stirling could not expect much else from their special guest for he was Hercules the Bear. But they didn't mind - they were only there for the bear! In this print captured by Bill Kennedy in 1980, we witness an unforgettable moment during a festive dinner at Dunblane Primary School. Hercules, the larger-than-life bear, steals all attention as he indulges in a feast fit for royalty. With children gathered around him, eyes wide open with wonderment, it is clear that nothing else matters but being in the presence of this magnificent creature. The image perfectly encapsulates both joy and fascination as Hercules devours his meal without any regard for etiquette or restraint. His voracious appetite seems to mirror our own holiday indulgences during this time of year. This photograph serves as a delightful reminder that sometimes it's not about following traditions or adhering to social norms; rather, it's about embracing unexpected
