EDITORS COMMENTS
This vintage print captures the essence of a bygone era, transporting us back to 1923 when rail travel was at its peak. The London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) sought to entice holidaymakers to the picturesque seaside resort of North Berwick on Scotland's east coast, and this poster was their invitation. The artwork, skillfully created by Frank Newbould, showcases a scene that epitomizes leisurely enjoyment. A young woman in a fashionable bathing costume takes center stage as she pours tea from a thermos flask into cups for herself and her two companions. The trio is depicted reclining on the soft sand, basking in the sun's warm embrace. Beside them lies evidence of another popular pastime - golf.
