"Captured by Fear: From Bill Sykes to King Kong, the Power of Terror Unleashed" In the haunting world of art and history, fear takes on many forms. From the menacing presence of Bill Sykes in Barnard's work to Fay Wray's iconic portrayal in Merian C Cooper's King Kong (1933), we witness how terror can grip our hearts. One cannot forget Briton Riviere's masterpiece "In Manus Tuas Domine. " (1879) where a vulnerable child seeks solace from an unknown danger lurking nearby. Afraid—such a simple word yet laden with complexity, and is an emotion that transcends time and place, reminding us all that vulnerability lies within each one of us.
