Alexandra of Denmark, born in 1844, was the beloved Queen Consort of King Edward VII of Great Britain. Known for her elegance and grace, she left an indelible mark on British royalty during her reign. One iconic image captures Alexandra aboard the royal yacht Victoria and Albert III in Norway in 1904. Painted by none other than Queen Alexandra herself, this artwork showcases her talent as an artist alongside her regal presence. Another captivating photograph from around 1890 portrays Alexandra radiating beauty and poise, and is a testament to her timeless charm that continues to captivate hearts even today. The marriage between Prince of Wales (later Edward VII) and Alexandra in 1863 was a momentous occasion that united two nations. The grandeur of their wedding day is immortalized through photographs that depict the couple's joy and love for each other. In 1912, Alexandra initiated the first-ever Alexandra Rose Day on June 21st. This charitable event aimed to raise funds for those affected by tuberculosis—a cause close to her heart. During their visit to Oxford Commemoration in 1863, Prince and Princess of Wales (Edward VII and Alexandra) were captured together in a photograph that exudes regality. Their presence at such prestigious events solidified their status as respected figures within society. A portrait taken in 1901 showcases Queen Alexandra's dignified demeanor while donning exquisite attire fit for a queen—her impeccable fashion sense always made headlines wherever she went. Queen Alexandra's marriage with Prince of Wales marked not only a union but also symbolized unity between Denmark and Britain—an alliance depicted beautifully through paintings capturing their wedding ceremony held at Windsor Castle back in 1863. Princess Alexandra graced the opening ceremony of King Edward VII's First Parliament in 1901 with elegance befitting royalty. Her unwavering support for her husband throughout his reign demonstrated both loyalty and strength.
