Step into a world of opulence and grandeur as you enter the banqueting room. Adorned with intricate tapestries and vibrant frescoes, this space is steeped in history and tells tales of extravagant feasts from centuries past. Transport yourself to the Coronation Pageantry of the Past, where kings and queens were crowned amidst a sea of splendor. The walls come alive with a colour litho depicting these majestic ceremonies, capturing the essence of regal celebrations. In another corner, Esther feasts with the king, an iconic biblical scene immortalized by Tissot's masterful brushstrokes. The banquet table overflows with delicacies as guests revel in merriment and indulgence. The Hull, Barnsley, and West Riding Railway and Dock take center stage in an engraving that showcases not only their engineering marvel but also their commitment to commemorating significant milestones through lavish banquets. A testament to progress intertwined with celebration. A tapestry from Brussels transports us back to 1525-50 when King Henry VIII held courtly banquets within his magnificent arcade. The woolen threads weave together scenes of nobles dining under ornate arches while musicians serenade them in harmony. An imaginary Renaissance palace comes alive on canvas from 1602; its halls echoing laughter and clinking glasses as guests immerse themselves in gastronomic delights fit for royalty. This painting captures the spirit of extravagance that defined this era. Witness love unfold at the Wedding Feast of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary and Louis of Thuringia depicted on an oil panel from c. 1490-c. 1495. Amidst golden chalices filled with wine, joyous faces bask in matrimonial bliss while savoring sumptuous dishes prepared for this momentous occasion. Stepping outside brings us to an open-air party captured on canvas in 1615.
