From the legendary Elvin Jones to the mesmerizing Max Roach, the drumkit has been a force to be reckoned with in the world of jazz. 🥁✨ In 1968, Elvin Jones showcased his mastery on the drums, captivating audiences with his rhythmic prowess. Brian Foskett captured this iconic moment that forever etched Elvin's name in jazz history. Fast forward to 1997, and Elvin Jones was still making waves with his Jazz Machine at the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles. Once again, Brian Foskett immortalized this performance that left spectators spellbound. The Count Basie Orchestra took center stage at London's Royal Festival Hall on July 18th, 1980. Denis Williams' artistry beautifully depicts their energy as they filled the hall with their swinging melodies. But it's not just professional musicians who find joy behind a drumkit. Two adorable kittens discovered their inner rhythm as they playfully explored their miniature set. A reminder that music knows no boundaries or species. Billy Higgins and David Williams graced Ronnie Scotts in Soho during September 1993, enchanting listeners with their soulful collaboration. Brian O Connor captured this magical moment where two musical souls became one. Max Roach brought his unparalleled talent to London's Queen Elizabeth Hall in 1996. Through Brian Foskett's lens, we witness Max's ability to command attention and create sonic landscapes like no other. Travel back to the golden era of jazz when The Count Basie Orchestra ruled supreme on stage during the '50s. Denis Williams' artwork transports us back in time while reminding us of their timeless influence. Harry Bence may have been playing saxophone at Hatfield's Forum Theatre in Hertfordshire during 1984 but let us not forget how crucial drums are for setting up those infectious grooves that make our bodies move.
