Step back in time to the mid 19th century, a period filled with artistic marvels and historical milestones. The Iris Germanica, a stunning hand-coloured engraving from 1847, showcases the beauty of nature captured on paper. Its colour aquatints and partly hand-coloured details transport us to an era where engineering marvels were celebrated. Bloomsbury, A Chestnut Racehorse with Sam Templeman up, takes us into the world of horse racing through its captivating oil on canvas depiction set against a picturesque landscape. Art lovers are treated to The Wrestling Scene in As You Like It painted by an unknown artist in 1854. This oil on canvas piece captures the intensity and drama of Shakespearean theater.
