"Persia Persian: A Glimpse into the Rich History and Culture of Ancient Persia" Step back in time with these captivating artworks that depict various aspects of ancient Persia. From executions in the presence of the Persian Shah to grand feasts and legendary love stories, each piece offers a unique glimpse into this fascinating civilization. In "Execution en presence du chah de Perse, " a lithograph and watercolor from the Persian school around 1700, we witness a solemn event as justice is served under the watchful eyes of the Persian Shah. "The Feast of Esther" portrays Hadassah bat Avihail, also known as Esther, wife of Xerxes I, King of Persia. This painting captures her pivotal role after the decree to exterminate Jews was issued by Vizier Haman. "The Infancy of King Cyrus" tells an extraordinary tale about Cyrus II or Cyrus the Great, founder of the Persian Empire. As an infant abandoned and nursed by a dog, his journey foreshadows his future greatness. In "Portrait de l'homme politique et militaire Abbas Mirza Amoli, " artist Mihr Ali presents Prince Abbas Mirza (1789-1833), capturing his essence through oil on canvas. This portrait showcases his influential role during this period. Another historical encounter is depicted in "Karim Khan Zand with Ottoman Ambassador Vehbi Effendi. " The painting by Ghafari al-Mustawfi immortalizes Mohammad Karim Khan alongside Vehbi Effendi during their diplomatic exchange between Persia and Ottoman Empire. "Persian Musicians" transports us to 1910 with its vibrant depiction of musicians playing traditional instruments. This oil on canvas artwork beautifully captures both their talent and cultural heritage.
