"Exploring the Planter's World: From Historic Pubs in Dublin to French Country Homes and Revolutionary Statesmen" Discovering Europe's rich history, we find ourselves in Ireland, specifically Dublin, where the exterior of Brazen Head pub stands tall as a testament to its establishment in 1198 AD. Transporting us further into Europe, we now find ourselves amidst the charming details of a French country home nestled in rural Provence, France. The planter adds an elegant touch to this picturesque setting. Crossing continents and centuries, our journey takes us to America during the time of George Mason (1725-1792), an American planter and Revolutionary statesman whose portrait captures his influential role on canvas. Stepping back into European history once again, we witness the artistry involved in planting trees at Versailles through a line engraving from Jean-Baptiste de la Quintinie's book "The Perfect Gardener" published in Paris in 1690. Venturing towards North America's wild landscapes, Alaska greets us with its rugged beauty and unique planters that adapt to survive harsh climates while adding a touch of greenery to their surroundings. Returning to Dublin but this time immersing ourselves within its vibrant Temple Bar district, we encounter another exterior adorned with colorful planters that contribute to the lively atmosphere surrounding popular establishments like Temple Bar itself. Unveiling tales from America's turbulent past is the Confederate gunboat Planter commandeered by Robert Smalls during the American Civil War—a courageous act depicted through contemporary wood engravings capturing this historic moment. Nurturing growth becomes an art form when J Evans advertises their nursery & seedsman services—offering aspiring gardeners access to quality plants and seeds for their own flourishing planters.
