From the gallant Light Dragoons of 1790 to the elegant women donning fashionable velvettoque hats with feathers in 1911, these delicate adornments have left their mark throughout history. In Suzanne Meunier's "Types Of Femininity, " she unravels the allure of plumes, showcasing how they symbolize grace and femininity. Picture a woman from 1913, confidently striding down the street in her new creation, adorned with feathers that add an air of sophistication to her ensemble. The flapper era of 1920s saw a revolution in fashion, and plumed headpieces became all the rage. Imagine a daring woman wearing a stunning flapper headpiece in 1912, exuding confidence and breaking societal norms. But it wasn't just women who embraced this feathered trend; even military regiments like the Second Regiment of Life Guards proudly displayed plumes on their uniforms.
