Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, was a prominent figure in the late 19th century. Born on January 8, 1864, he was the eldest son of the Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne. Despite his royal status, Prince Albert Victor had a down-to-earth nature that endeared him to both high society and commoners alike.
