Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, was a prominent figure in the late 19th century. Born on January 8, 1864, he was the eldest son of the Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne. Despite his royal status, Prince Albert Victor had a down-to-earth nature that endeared him to both high society and commoners alike. One notable event in his life took place in Mysore, India in 1890. A captivating photograph captured Prince Albert Victor sitting alongside the "Elephant King" in a Jungle Waggon. This image showcased his adventurous spirit and love for exploring new cultures. Another significant moment occurred when he took his seat in the House of Lords. The engraving immortalized this milestone as he embraced his role as a political figure with grace and dignity. Tragically, Prince Albert Victor's life was cut short at just 28 years old. His private funeral service held at Sandringham Church in Norfolk evoked deep sorrow among those who mourned him.
