Norway, particularly Hammerfest, became known for its involvement in this trade, with brave sailors venturing into the treacherous waters of the Arctic Ocean to hunt down majestic creatures like the Blue Whale. Dundee Whaler's Harbour in the early 1900s served as a bustling hub for these adventurous seafarers. The harbor witnessed countless ships setting sail on daring expeditions, their crews equipped with harpoons and determination to conquer nature's giants. Across the Atlantic Ocean, in Miami, Florida, stood Whalers jewellery store. While it may seem unrelated at first glance, this store paid homage to an era when whale products were highly valued - from oil used for lighting and lubrication to bones crafted into exquisite jewelry pieces. On Pico Island in Portugal's Azores archipelago lies Sao Roque do Pico's Praceta dos Baleeiros square adorned with a monument dedicated to whalers. This tribute stands as a reminder of their bravery and contribution to local history. Historical publications such as "Right Whaling in Bering Straits & Arctic Ocean with its Varieties, " published back in 1871 as a colorful lithograph or engravings like "A View of the Whale Fishery and the Manner of Killing Bears near and on the Coast of Greenland" captured scenes from this perilous occupation.
