This stunning chromolithograph depicts the vibrant and exotic Flamingo Flower, or Anthurium splendidum, as it was beautifully illustrated by Pieter de Pannemaeker for Jean Linden's Horticole publication in Brussels in 1884. The Anthurium splendidum, also known as the Flamingo Lily, is a tropical plant native to Central and South America. Known for its unique and eye-catching appearance, this plant has become a popular ornamental species worldwide. The Flamingo Flower derives its common name from the bright red, waxy spathe that surrounds its small, white inflorescence, resembling the colorful legs and feet of a flamingo.
