The top left sketch portrays the bustling cityscape of Tehran, with its maze-like streets and distinctive architecture. Moving clockwise, we encounter the enchanting city of Shiraz, renowned for its gardens, mosques, and historical sites. The following sketch depicts a city gate in Tabreez, a major commercial hub and a significant stop on the ancient Silk Road. The old south gate of Tehran is depicted in the fifth sketch, a testament to the city's storied past and its role as the capital of the Persian Empire. The sixth sketch showcases the impressive east front of the Shah's palace in Tehran, a symbol of the monarchy's power and grandeur. Lastly, the seventh sketch captures the majestic Maidan Shah, or Royal Square, in Ispahan. This expansive public space, surrounded by elegant buildings and gardens, served as a gathering place for locals and a symbol of the city's prosperity.
