This print takes us back in time to the charming harbour of Polperro, Cornwall, during the 1860s-1870s. The image captures a picturesque scene from the slipway near The Three Pilchards, showcasing a bustling harbor filled with moored boats adorned with registration numbers such as 23FY, 49FY, 351 (?), 50FY, and 78FY. Amidst this maritime activity stands an idyllic house on the right side of the frame. A lady can be seen hanging out her washing in true coastal fashion. Her presence adds a touch of domesticity to this otherwise nautical setting. The photograph is part of "The History of Polperro" manuscript by Thomas Q. Couch (1878).
