VISUAL DESCRIPTION
This whimsical piece from "La Vie Parisienne," dated November 11th, 1916, features characters reminiscent of historic French military figures juxtaposed with playful modern elements. A dashing drum major stands confidently beside his counterpart—a coquettish woman who casually smokes while leaning against classical architecture amidst autumnal trees. Their exaggerated expressions are comically endearing; he brandishes oversized batons while she seems unimpressed by his bravado—both adorned in period costumes that blend satire with nostalgia.
