EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the legendary Tyldesley brothers of Lancashire County Cricket Club during the 1913 season. Standing proudly from left to right are James Jas (J. D. ) Tyldesley, Ernest (G. E. ) Tyldesley, Johnny (J. T. ) Tyldesley, and William (W. K. ) Tyldesley. While Ernest and Johnny were blood brothers hailing from Worsley, James and William shared a last name but not a family tree as they came from Westhoughton. The image showcases the remarkable talent that ran in both sets of siblings' veins as they represented their beloved county on the cricket field. Notably, this photograph only features four out of six cricket-playing brothers within these two families. Harry and Dick also had successful careers playing first-class cricket for Lancashire. Through this historic snapshot captured by Colorsport / Wilkes, we can feel the camaraderie between these skilled athletes who dedicated themselves to their craft with unwavering passion. Their legacy lives on through their contributions to Lancashire C. C. C. , leaving an indelible mark on English cricket history
