This vintage print captures the Glossop North End AFC team group during the 1915/16 football season. The image showcases the players standing in two rows, with a backdrop of an old stadium. In the back row, some names are missing, but we can identify James Montgomery, who also played for Manchester United from 1914 to 1920. Alongside him stands Robert Dearnaley and Arthur Causer, who was known as Preston goalkeeper as well. The rest of the back row remains unidentified. In the front row, more players come into focus - their names lost to time. However, one player catches our attention: John Knight, who had stints at Wigan and Preston as well.
