Born in 1830, Abdulaziz was the eldest son of Sultan Abdulmecid I and succeeded him upon his father's death. The Sultan is depicted wearing the traditional Ottoman attire, including a red fez adorned with intricate gold embroidery and a long, flowing robe. The oval border of the portrait is inscribed with ornate script in Turkish, bearing the title "Sultan Abdulaziz Han" and the dates of his reign.
