Fashion 1960s: An eye-catcher from The House of Worth. The House of Worth have presented

Fashion 1960s: An eye-catcher from The House of Worth. The House of Worth have presented their latest collection of related couture for winter 1969, designed by Hylan Booker. Describing their collection as " Hip" clothes for the " Non-Hippy", Worths have introduced some super sexy and sophisticated outfits, declaring that stiff little A-Line dresses are " dead". There are trousers in the collection, but none of the unisex feeling - their pants are made to be worn by the girls. Pegga St Helen models a long coat of sheer, crunchy knit fabric, edged with mahogony suede, worn over matching suede pants, from the new collection by the House of Worth. July 1969 P017573

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print from the 1960s showcases an exquisite creation by The House of Worth, a renowned fashion house. In their latest collection for winter 1969, designed by Hylan Booker, Worths have taken a departure from the prevailing hippie style and introduced a range of "Hip" clothes for the "Non-Hippy". Embracing sensuality and sophistication, they boldly declare that stiff little A-Line dresses are now passé. The featured outfit on Pegga St Helen is truly eye-catching. She effortlessly models a long coat made of sheer, crunchy knit fabric that exudes elegance. The coat is beautifully accented with mahogany suede trimmings, adding a touch of luxury to the ensemble. Paired with matching suede pants, this ensemble epitomizes the chic and glamorous aesthetic that The House of Worth has become synonymous with. What sets this collection apart is its focus on femininity without compromising comfort or individuality. While trousers make an appearance in this line-up, there is no trace of unisex styling; these pants are specifically tailored to be worn by women. This attention to detail highlights Worth's commitment to celebrating female empowerment through fashion. This photograph captures not only the stunning craftsmanship but also reflects the spirit and essence of fashion during this iconic era. It serves as a timeless reminder of how The House of Worth continues to push boundaries and redefine what it means to be fashionable in every decade.
