EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the intense action of the 1968 Dutch Grand Prix held in Zandvoort, Holland. The date is June 23rd, and amidst a sea of roaring engines and adrenaline-fueled excitement, we see Jochen Rindt leading the pack in his Brabham BT26-Repco. Unfortunately for Rindt, his race ended prematurely as he retired from the competition. Right behind him is Graham Hill in his Lotus 49B-Ford, holding onto the ninth position with determination. Chris Amon follows closely in his Ferrari 312, securing an impressive sixth place on that fateful day. However, it was Jackie Stewart who stole the show with his Matra MS10-Ford, dominating the race from start to finish and ultimately claiming victory. The image also showcases Jacky Ickx piloting another Ferrari 312 into fourth place while Jo Siffert's hopes were dashed as he retired early on in his Lotus 49-Ford. The photograph perfectly encapsulates the intensity and thrill of motorsport at its finest. Preserved through time by Motorsport Images under their world copyright protection, this remarkable snapshot serves as a testament to these legendary drivers' skills and bravery on that historic day over five decades ago. It allows us to relive a moment frozen forever - capturing not just a race but also a glimpse into an era where speed reigned supreme.
