April 17,2004: A Historic Moment in Rangers Football Club History In the heart of Scottish football, the Scottish Premier League (SPL) title race reached its thrilling climax on this day, as Rangers Football Club secured the championship with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Partick Thistle at Ibrox Stadium. The tension was palpable as the teams took to the pitch, with Rangers knowing that a win would secure the title, while Partick Thistle aimed to spoil the party. The atmosphere was electric, with the home crowd urging their team on to victory. Rangers started strongly, dominating possession and creating several chances. However, it was not until the 35th minute that they broke the deadlock. A brilliant team move, involving intricate passing and clever movement, culminated in Barry Ferguson finding Steven Thompson in the box, who calmly slotted the ball past the Partick Thistle goalkeeper.
