EL SALVADOR Suchitoto In the heart of this old colonial town lies a colourful backstreet. The outside walls of the houses slopes down from right to left and at the front of shot one can make out the edge of a bumpy pavement. The wall in the background has been painted halfway in a rustic red colour. The wooden doorway is visibly closed and there are iron bars in front of the only visable window. Behind the bars is a local barbers as one can just about make out the shapes of a barber and his client sitting down. On the pavement on the foreground lies a local dressed from head to toe in beige linen. He is sleeping on the dusty ground with his legs crossed and his hands lying gently on his chest. His skin is dark and worn and although his position seems a little unorthodox on the whole he seems surprisingly comfortable

EDITORS COMMENTS
In the heart of the old colonial town of Suchitoto in El Salvador, a vibrant backstreet comes to life in this photo print. The sloping outside walls of the houses create an intriguing visual effect, leading our gaze towards a bumpy pavement at the front. A rustic red-colored wall stands tall in the background, adding character and charm to the scene. At first glance, one might notice that a wooden doorway is firmly closed with iron bars protecting the only visible window. Behind these bars lies a local barbershop where we can faintly make out a barber attending to his client's needs. The atmosphere seems lively despite being confined within those walls. On the dusty foreground pavement, an elderly local dressed entirely in beige linen catches our attention. He peacefully sleeps with crossed legs and hands resting gently on his chest. His dark and weathered skin tells stories of resilience and experience. Although his position may seem unconventional for some, he appears surprisingly comfortable amidst his surroundings. This photograph beautifully captures not only architectural elements but also offers glimpses into daily life in this Central American town. Joe Lasky skillfully portrays both urban aesthetics and human connections through this evocative image from EyeUbiquitous's collection.
