This stunning hand-colored lithograph depicts a French People's Representative of the Directory Era, an important political figure during the French Revolution. The representative is shown wearing the distinctive attire of the time, including a bicorn hat adorned with tricolor plumes, a tricolor sash belt, boots, and a white shirt with a cravat. The bicorn hat, a symbol of the French Revolution, is a tall, conical hat with a wide brim that was worn at a rakish angle. The tricolor plumes represent the French Revolution's national colors - blue, white, and red. The tricolor sash belt was also a symbol of the Revolution, and was worn by all members of the National Assembly.
