Charlotte Despard, nee French (1844-1939), suffragette, novelist and Sinn Fein activist. She was an active member of the Labour Party, and joined, in turn, the NUWSS and the WSPU in order to campaign for women's suffrage, being twice imprisoned in Holloway. She was a founder member of the Women's Freedom League. She also took part in Irish politics. Seen here in later life. Date: early 20th century
