Mouse Mat : St Albans Abbey - Lantern Slide - West Front
Home Decor from Mary Evans Picture Library
St Albans Abbey - Lantern Slide - West Front
St Albans Abbey - the west front of the abbey showing the lost Wheathampstead window. Remodelled by Edmund Beckett, 1st Baron Grimthorpe, a move which was (rightly!) controvsial resulting in a new West Front very much out of character with the rest of this magnificent edifice. Part of Box 3 Boswell Collection Series of Ancient Britain. Date - circa 1870s
