Vulcan Delta bomber NQJ swoops spectacularly over the city of Coventry as a thank you to

Vulcan Delta bomber NQJ swoops spectacularly over the city of Coventry as a thank you to the people who helped save her.
The plane crossed the city at 2000 feet to salute those in Coventry and Warwickshire who had raised almost 5000 in three weeks to secure the aircraft from the Ministry of Defence. It will be held at the Midlands Air Museum at Baginton in the open until the planned Sir Frank Whittle hangar is built.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Touching tribute: Vulcan Delta bomber NQJ soars above Coventry's cityscape as a heartfelt thank you to the community that saved her. In February 1983, this iconic aircraft made a spectacular flyby over the city at 2000 feet, paying homage to the people of Coventry and Warwickshire who rallied together to raise almost £5000 in just three weeks. Their efforts secured the plane's future from being scrapped by the Ministry of Defence. Today, NQJ proudly takes her place at the Midlands Air Museum in Baginton, awaiting its new home in the planned Sir Frank Whittle hangar. This poignant moment captures not only the awe-inspiring sight of this Cold War-era bomber but also the power of community spirit and preservation.
