This chromolithograph, published in 1896, showcases the diverse and rich cultural heritage of American Native People. The print features a stunning array of individuals representing various tribes and ethnicities. From left to right, we see an American Eskimo woman exuding strength and resilience. Next is a Greenlandic Eskimo, followed by an Aleut person adorned with intricate traditional attire. Moving down the line, we encounter representatives from the Dakota, Comanche, Ojibwe, Blackfoot, Sioux, Absarokee (Crow), Apache, Pawnee tribes. The image then transitions to portray individuals from different regions within Mexico and South America. We observe a Mestizo person embodying mixed Indigenous and European ancestry alongside Aztec warriors showcasing their vibrant culture. Mexican natives are depicted alongside Creole people who have African or European roots. Continuing our journey southward through Latin America brings us face-to-face with Peruvian and Bolivian inhabitants as well as Cambeba tribe members from Brazil's Amazon rainforest region.
