The docks adjoin...the North Woolwich Railway; by which they will have ready access to the heart of the City, and be placed in direct communication with all the great railways in the kingdom...The Western Dock and Tidal Basin will afford, together, an area of water accommodation of ninety acres, and upwards of a mile of Quay and Wharfage-room, together with 160, 000 feet of fire-proof Warehouses, on a single floor, adapted for the reception of every description of merchandise...The width of the entrance gates of these Docks will render them available for the largest class of steamers engaged in the home and foreign trade of the port ot London'.
