The Prince of Wales Visit to Egypt: a portion of the Royal Party leaving the encampment at Djizeh for the Pyramids, 1862. The future King Edward VII in Africa. The expedition left Cairo on March 4 and went to Djizeh, thence to the Pyramids on dromedaries provided by his Highness the Viceroy [Said Pacha], who took leave of the Prince at the Palace of Djizeh.
