With a keen interest in flight from a young age, Henshaw dedicated his life to the pursuit of aviation knowledge and innovation. He became a renowned figure in the field, making significant contributions to both theoretical and practical aspects of aeronautics. Born in England, Henshaw's passion for aviation was ignited during World War I, when he served as a Royal Flying Corps observer. After the war, he went on to study aeronautical engineering at the University of Cambridge. In the 1930s, Henshaw worked at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington, where he conducted groundbreaking research on aerodynamics and flight stability. During World War II, Henshaw's expertise was in high demand. He worked for the British Air Ministry, designing and testing aircraft and rocket-propelled projectiles. After the war, he joined the Royal Aircraft Establishment, where he continued his research and development work. Throughout his career, Henshaw published numerous papers and books on aeronautics, including "Flight Dynamics," which became a standard text in the field. He was also a prolific inventor, holding several patents for aviation-related innovations.
